Tuesday, May 20, 2003
Thursday, May 22, 2003
This is when we put the lectures into practice. Enrollees, paired in teams of two, take turns conducting witness examinations and raising timely and appropriate objections based on written materials provided to them at the lectures. The Workshop on Evidence is designed to increase competency by teaching prompt recognition and proper handling of a wide variety of evidentiary problems in both civil and criminal cases. This hands-on approach allows new trial lawyers to practice in a real courtroom with real local judges and lawyers that assist in the training and provide judicial insight. As a result, graduates can expect to exude confidence and professionalism when they return to court to try their actual cases. Enrollees are required to attend both workshop sessions to satisfy the requirements of the course. (Link to College of Trial Advocacy Course Outline)
